Since already 30 years now we at LaIguanaPerdida, are taking curious people into the depths of lake Atitlan with ATI Divers.

The special thing about diving here is, that first of all its a volcanic crater, so you see the caldera, volcanic veins and a unique and mysterious underwater world. Second thing, that makes the experience so special is the altitude. Lake Atitlan is about 1500m above sea level, which means different buoyancy, other calculations and throughout a different experience than in the ocean.

We are the only PADI certified diving school around the lake and are more than happy to welcome everybody to come and dive with us. It can be your first dive, or your 200nd hundred dive, we will make sure, that you are safe and have an amazing experience!

We got inspired by an old mentos ad to try it ourselves and to create a once in a lifetime advertisement. We think this could’ve been on TV back in the day for sure!

People keep saying, that there’s nothing to do in Santa Cruz. Here’s a few of our favourite spots in case you’ve done all the other things that are there to do already and want to get some nice vacay pictures! 🔥

Best itinerary for an eventful day - get up early and head up to the new viewpoint, so you don’t have to get up there during the midday heat. Enjoy the fresh air and view and head down to CeCap. That’s where you grab a coffee and some breakfast. After that you’ve got your strength back and can walk along the coast for a tanning session and a little dip on one of the docks. Start walking to Jaibalito some time after midday and stop along the way wherever you want. Take the lancha back to Santa Cruz to not miss sunset on the main dock and then be on time for family dinner! ❤️‍🔥

If you’re wondering what the perfect day in La Iguana Perdida looks like, here is an idea that gets pretty close! ✨

Start your day off with our sunrise hike and an absolutely breathtaking view over the lake, the volcanoes and all the different pueblos. 🌄

After that you should treat yourself with some breakfast and a hot coffee directly from the region. ☕️

Followed by a nice session in our traditional temezcal sauna to get ready for our Saturday costume parties. 🎉🍾
