I wanted to share a Special Post to thank everybody who donated toys.
I remember when I was a kid, adults used to say that kids are the future of the nation and it was our parent's dream that we become doctors and architects to fix the world.
Nowadays I sometimes feel there's no hope anymore and I say that I don't want kids because I'm not giving them a fixed world like it was expected. And it makes me sad.
Especially living in a place where there has never been this hope, where kids are and always have been a working force when they reach a certain age, where it is not important to study and it is somehow forgotten that playing is an important part of their learning process...
So when "little things" like today's toy donation happen, I feel so joyful and hopeful again and I think to myself: "well, maybe kids are still the hope for the future". Seeing them laughing, sharing and grateful reminds me that it is good to be like kids and it is very important to learn (or re-learn) what they have to teach us.
They told me 10 times "gracias Gaby", we spoke about friends, family, school, work 😔 and many other things, we made games, we laughed, I showed them pictures of the time when I visited for one of the boy's first birthday (he's now 5), we ate candies. They're such good kids and I'm happy to have them as neighbors!
Let's do this next year again! ❤️🎄✨
I have to admit that I totally forgot to take more pictures and this was the only one I could take, that was at the end of the day when most of the kids had already left 🤦🏾♀️ (and I'm also not the type that shares openly pictures of kids... Or people in general, unless they give permission)
