🌅 Have you ever tried to catch a sunset from the west coast of Istria?
There is something magical about watching the sun slowly disappear into the Adriatic.
Every evening paints a different picture — sometimes in deep orange and gold, sometimes in soft pink, purple and blue. And somehow, every sunset looks like it was made for a photograph. 🌅
We collected a few of our favourite sunsets from the west coast of Istria.
Can you guess which of these photos was taken at Camp Peškera? 👀
And if you are staying with us this week, the sky has something extra special planned.
🌒 August 12 – Partial Solar Eclipse
From the P**a and Banjole area, the eclipse begins at around 19:27, with its maximum at approximately 20:12 — just as the Sun approaches the Adriatic horizon. A rather extraordinary combination of sunset and eclipse.
If you would like to watch it, please use certified solar eclipse glasses and protect your eyes and camera equipment with appropriate solar filters.
✨ And after sunset, keep looking up.
The night of August 12–13 brings the peak of the Perseid meteor shower — the famous “Tears of St. Lawrence”. This year, the peak coincides with a new moon, which means beautifully dark skies for watching shooting stars.
Sunsets, an eclipse and shooting stars.
Sometimes the best part of a holiday in Istria begins when the day is almost over. 🌊✨
