Can you still discover Croatia on a budget? Yes!!! Besides the known highlights we want to show you gems that are worth a visit and won't cost you an arm and a leg. We have been living in Croatia for 13 years and we want to share the places that we love.
Sunsets are magical, and a lot of people enjoy watching them. Our next hidden gem offers you a hill with 360°views!
In the settlement of Bribir there is a site named "Bribirska glavica", the centre of the Croatian State in the 13th century. It is one of the most important archaeological sites in Croatia and was habituated from prehistory until the 16th century.
It is a massive site at 300m above sea level, so it offers magnificent views. We were there on a cloudy day, and even then, the sunset was amazing. I would recommend visiting the site when you are in the area.
Only a tiny part of the hill is explored and excavated, and while walking around, you can imagine that more is still to be discovered. Entrance is free, and in some places, you can scan a QR code that provides you with more information, but when we were there, the QR code didn't work.
