This year's season is almost over and we are using these last few days to enjoy ourselves and have some fun.

Today, our five course meal features one of the most iconic Adriatic dishes - octopus salad! Our chef insists that there are only two solid ingredients allowed - Octopus and onions - and that everything else is garnish, but many would disagree.

What is in an octopus salad in your (cook)book?

Happy October everyone!

The summer season has ended and we are already enjoying the beautiful fall on Korčula. October brings many changes, but here, the most important one is the olive harvest that is coming very soon. Olive oil is one of the island's main products and we are looking forward to tasting the new batch!

Our hotel is open until the end of the month and then we are closing for the winter holidays, but we will regularly post here and the reservations office is always at your service!

We've talked about wine before - by now you are well aware that we are somewhat in love with it, and because of that, we sometimes hoard it just a tiny bit.
Well, this time we are going to share the love and offer this 2018 Kutjevo Graševina De Gotho on a discount! These bottles are probably unique on the island, and since it has a platinum medal from Decanter, the most prestigious wine competition in the world, we would argue this is a must try!

Quantities are very limited so first come first served!

Okay, the staff voted and we decided that the best time to come to Korčula is at the beginning of September.
Why, you ask? Not too crowded, not too hot and you get views like this one!

The bookings for 2023 have already started, so make sure you book your dates in time!

Even cloudy days make for majestic views from our terrace!
One more month of summer left, but many would argue that September and October are actually the best months to come and stay with us. Only one way to see if the rumours are true!

Korčula is more than just one island - it has it's own archipelago for you to explore! Just on the eastern side of the island, right next to the Korčula town there are over twenty small islands and islets and each of them is special in its own way.
The largest and best known ones you can see in this beautiful photo: Vrnik, Planjak and Badija. We recommend visiting each of them in an interesting all day island hopping adventure, but if you not an exploring type, you can enjoy a beautiful view of Badija from our sea view rooms!

Every August, we have a pasta appreciation day here on Korčula!
The famous local pasta from Korčula is called 'Žrnovski makaruni' and it has been hand made in the village of Žrnovo and the whole island for generations.
From young age, kids are taught how roll the 'makaruni' so the tradition can be perserved. Nowdays, 'makaruni' are a very popular dish and almost every restaurant has them on the menu with their own variation of sauce. Traditionally, the brown sauce was made from game meat, but nowdays it is mostly replaced by beef or some seafood variant. No matter the sauce or topping, we love them and hope the tradion will be kept for many more generations to come. When visiting Korčula, be sure not to miss them!
