If you’re only planning to stay a day or two on Korcula Island, I’d recommend staying in Korcula Town.

You’ll be close to transport terminals, plenty of restaurants and shops and can explore the historical old town.

You could take a trip (by bus, water-taxi or bike) to the village of Lumbarda for some beach time and wine tasting, or use the hop-on/hop-off water taxi and explore the islets of Badija and Vrnik.

And you may get yourself a wonderful view like this!

Korcula is just around 47kms in length and is on average just under 8kms wide. This makes it one of the largest of the Croatian Islands and is the 2nd most populated - although it only has a population of around 15,500 people, so it’s not crowded!

It’s located roughly half way between Dubrovnik and Split - so by flying into either of these destinations, you can easily reach the island. It’s located very close to the mainland, specifically the area called the Peljesac Peninsula. So it’s possible to take a 15 minute car ferry from the mainland to the island.

This means getting to Korcula is super easy, so no reason not to visit if you’re heading to Croatia this year!
