It was tough, tough decision. It took 20 days, few fights, and 5 rounds of voting.

Yeah, we were not deciding about anyone's future, we were "discusing" (more like yelling) about the floor in our villa, Two shades of same rustic floor.

But it is finished now. Will not tell you (yet which one we took) And finally the bedrooms, with full wood beds are ready for our first guest in April.

And if you do not like it, do not worry, there is an easy solution. We will just put carpet for you.

When working with tourists or traveling there is always one most important thing - recommendation.

And when and while you are in Zadar, if I had to make one recommendation it would have to be - grab a cup of coffe on Forum.

Choose any caffe-bar and sit down. And for at least an hour. Enjoy the sun, enjoy the people walking around, realise that your are sitting ten meters from protector of Zadar - St. Donatus, and two meters from ruins and remains from Roman Empire (almost 2000 years old), and enjoy your coffe. And it will cost you about 1 Euro.

This is what locals do, this what Dalmatins do. Drinking coffe for centuries now. (first photo is form 1990's, second one is from 2014 I believe)

Feeling cold last few days? Same here...

But did you know that average temperature in Zadar region, and Korlat during summer is 30,8 Celsius. Perfect sunshine and perfect days.

There is about 800 m2 of stone used to make walls, tavern, staircase and other parts for our villa. This means approximately 40 000 stones which were hand collected, processed, shaped and set in its place.

And everything has been done by two stone masters. Just two or three picks, hammers, shovels, tractor and a lot of patience, love and spare time. But, hey, to make anything nice you need time. And it always is time well spent.

There is a well known and documented story about Alfred Hitchcock being amazed by sunset in Zadar, calling it "the most beautiful sunset in the world"

Personally, I believe there is even better story behind sunset in Zadar. In 2014. there was a world competiton for most beautiful photo taken by tourist. And the person who got the reward was Irish man who took the photo of sunset in Zadar.

And to demonstrate how beautiful it is, this is mine photo. Taken in a second, with crappy phone, and crappy camera. No exposition, no filters, no photoshop.

While mostly known for its unique Sea Organs, as a piece of modern art and arichtecture, perfect symbiosis of nature and man, Zadar can offer so much to its guest.

One of the oldest cities in the world, now celebrating 3005 years, making him city older than Rome (Scuso per il mio povero italiano, ma devo dire: Si, miei amici Italiani, Zara è la città più antica di Roma) is also a City of the first seals in Croatia, the first hospice, the first military hospital, the first university (17th in the world), after Boston first surgery using drugs, the first midwifery school, the first modern electric grid, the longest aqueduct and the first public park.

For all of our guests, we can and will be happy to organize a tour around this amazing city, or give some pointers and tips while you explore it by yourself.

Did you know that in area of 100 kilometeres from Villa Korlat there are six different National Parks (two under Unesco protection as World heritage) you can visit.

They are:

Plitvice lakes (97 km from Villa Korlat) - oldest, most known and most visited NP in Croatia. Great because of its stunning nature. 16 lakes and 500 waterfalls.

Krka (45 km) - River Krka cretaing beautiful waterfalls with most beautiful island inside it. You can even go for a swim.

Northern Velebit (77 km) - mountain for hikers.

Paklenica (39 km) - even better for hikers

Una (72 km) - river for rafting.

Kornati (20 km + 14 nautical miles) - 147 islands, 700 bays, and nature as it was 1000 years ago.

During your stay, we can organize, even private if you prefer, short one day excursions to almost all of these beautiful parks.
