🇬🇧 Fjaka. A Dalmatian state of mind that has no perfect translation. The art of slowing down, doing nothing without feeling guilty, and simply enjoying the moment. Sea, sun, good food and nowhere you need to be. At Villa Roca, fjaka comes naturally.

🇩🇪 Fjaka.

🇬🇧 POV: You follow the steps down from Villa Roca.

Warm stone beneath your feet, Mediterranean green all around, and with every step the sea gets closer. At the very end, just a ladder and the cool Adriatic waiting for you. This is how summer mornings should begin.

🇩🇪 POV: Sie folgen den Stufen von der Villa Roca

hinunter. So sollten Sommermorgen beginnen.

🇬🇧 What if breakfast came to you?

Island life on Vis has its own little rituals. During the season, the local baker and fruit & vegetable vendor stop by almost every day — so sometimes all you need to do is step outside with a bag.

Fresh bread and pastries for breakfast. Sweet figs, sun-ripened tomatoes and whatever happens to be best that morning.

And when you feel like exploring, we’ll happily point you towards our favourite local restaurants, services and experiences around the island.

This is one of those small things that makes staying on Vis feel less like visiting — and more like living here for a while.

🇬🇧 There is something magical about the first few moments of a holiday. The moment you put your bags down. The moment you see the view. The moment you know you’ve chosen the right place. Welcome to island life.

🇬🇧 Croatia is not just about places you visit. It is about the way summer feels there — slower, warmer, more real. Narrow streets, sea air, quiet mornings and evenings that somehow last longer than anywhere else. On Vis, you don’t need to plan every moment. The island does it for you.

🇬🇧 A Croatian word for the moment when the wind disappears and the sea becomes perfectly still.

The kind of calm you cannot create.
Only find.

⸻

Wake up by the sea. Spend the day by the pool. Repeat.

Some of the best holiday memories are made when there is no plan at all. Just sunshine, the Adriatic Sea, and a place that feels like home from the moment you arrive.

🌙 Nights in Vis have their own rhythm. Stone streets glowing under warm lights, the sound of the sea echoing through the harbor, waterfront bars filled with laughter, local w**e, and conversations that seem to last forever. It’s not about rushing from place to place — it’s about slowing down, enjoying the atmosphere, and letting the island work its magic. Once the sun sets, Vis becomes even more unforgettable.
