At Villa Istra, quality begins with the choices we make every day. Especially when it comes to food. We believe that truly good nutrition starts with knowing where it comes from and who stands behind it.

For many years, we have been working closely with Farm Drijede, a small, family-run farm located in the village of Šumber near Labin. Their work is rooted in respect for animals, land and natural rhythms. Goats and sheep roam freely, chickens range openly, and dairy products, eggs and olive oil are produced with patience, care and traditional knowledge.

All fresh dairy products, eggs and olive oil served at Villa Istra come directly from this partnership. Organic quality, short distances and transparency are not trends for us — they are the foundation of how we care for our guests. By supporting local farms and long-term partnerships, we actively promote sustainable agriculture and regional craftsmanship.

Our guests experience this commitment every morning at the breakfast table: honest food, thoughtfully selected, nourishing both body and mind — deeply connected to the land that surrounds us 🌿🪴
