Silo is located on the north-eastern part of the island with population about 400 people, facing Crikvenica riviera. It is located about 20 km from Krk bridge. With almost untouched nature will satisfy every visitor who looks for his own inlet and peace. Silo, the tourist centre of Dobrinjstina, is a typical coastal picturesque village suited for those who look for a vacation far from summer crowd.
In the center of the city is blue flag sandy beach suitable for children; there are also pebble and concrete beaches. Silo is only few kilometers from Crikvenica. In summer season there are fast boats connecting directly island Krk and Crikvenica.
From 1910. In Silo Is held one of the oldest swimming marathons in Adriatic. It is marathon Silo – Crikvenica length 3500 m. Marathon is held always on 15 of August.
There are also available tennis courts, beach volleyball court and various water sports (sailing, rowing, diving, etc.). Diving in bay of Silo has many interesting positions which are presented by local diving clubs, especially attractive is shipwreck Peltastis one of the best wreck diving points in North Adriatic.
In Silo are available shops, restaurants, post office, ambulance, pharmacy, church, camp, diving clubs, cash machine, children playgrounds. Center of the city is covered with free wireless Internet.
