Built in 1876 and thoroughly renovated in 2005, this authentic Istrian stone villa invokes the past times, but offers full comfort of a modern holiday home. The 280m2 living area is divided on three floors. The ground floor features a fully equipped kitchen, the dining room and access to the tavern. On the first floor there’s the living room, two bedrooms, bathrooms and access to the balcony. Two

more bedrooms are located on the second floor. All the interiors were toughtfully restaurated to reflect the times when the villa was built, on the transition from 19th to 20th century. There are many original details, like the still functioning wood stove in the kitchen or the fresk on the dining room’s ceiling. Former wine cellar was refited into a beautiful and spacious tavern with fireplace. The cosy living room and the individually designed bedrooms with authentic restaurated furniture will take you back in time when the living was more relaxed and stressless. Regardless of the specific interior design, the villa is equipped with all the appliances needed for full comfort on a perfect vacation. The villa is surrounded with a wide landscaped garden bounded by olive trees. The pool terrace dominates the backyard, and together with the BBQ area and the roofed dinning terrace provides a delightful summer holiday experience. As Markovac village is situated on a small hill, the view from the property is outstanding. It extends over vineyards and olive groves of Porec backcountry towards the west-istrian coastline.

Did you know that Istrian Villa Bernobic was built in 1876 and until World War 2 it was home to our Grandfathers, famous local wine producers and merchants. After the war, for many years our family used the house as a summer holidays home, until 2005 when we decided to renovate it the way it invokes the past times but offers full comfort of a modern Holiday Home.

For the past 8 years our numerous guests enjoyed their stay at the Villa and maximized their experience of Istria. We are looking forward to accommodate many more guests in the years to come and offer a valuable, unique and unforgettable holiday experience.

Weekend's here, and with temperatures already reaching 20C, following days will be perfect for a mountain bike adventure.

Exploring many bike trails connecting old towns and villages in the Istrian inland, or a relaxing bike ride by the sea are both great choices.

Spring time has arrived to Istria and we started preparations for the upcoming season here at the Villa. A lot to do before first guests arrive, but as each year, everything will be ready on time for our guest's perfect holiday :)
