First time in Budapest? Start planning before you arrive. 📍📆Before making a long list of sights to see, start with something more practical: plan how you will get around the city.
🚎You can easily reach most major sights, museums, and attractions in Budapest using the extensive public transport network, which includes metro, tram, bus, and trolleybus options. A useful first step is to download the BudapestGO app before your trip. It helps you plan routes and buy digital tickets and travelcards, and Budapest’s public transport system also offers NFC-based ticket validation. On metro lines, Pay&GO allows you to buy and validate a ticket simply by tapping your bank card or compatible smart device.
✈Arriving by plane? Decide in advance how you would like to get from Liszt Ferenc International Airport to the center. The 100E Airport Express runs directly between the airport and Deák Ferenc tér in the heart of the city, and requires a special airport shuttle ticket. Deák Ferenc tér is about a 10-minute walk from the Hotel Erzsébet City Center.
🚖Of course, you can also take a taxi directly to our hotel. We recommend using only official, licensed Budapest taxis and avoiding unmarked vehicles.
