Ohrid Macedón Folkegyüttes

Ohrid Macedón Folkegyüttes КУД Охрид Az együttes nevét Ohridról kapta. A festői szépségű Ohridi - tó a szláv írásbeliség egyik legfontosabb központja volt a IX. századtól kezdődően. Ss.

Az Ohrid Macedón Folkegyüttes 2012 áprilisában alakult, főként az ELTE Macedón Lektorátusának hallgatóiból és doktoranduszaiból, a Lektorátus támogatásával. A folkegyüttes célja a rendkívül gazdag macedón folklór megismertetése, főként táncokon és dalokon keresztül, emellett a magyar-macedón kapcsolatok bővítése mindkét ország irányában. Az ohridi régió a XVI. századtól kezdve erős szálakkal kapcs

olódik Magyarországhoz, hiszen az innen érkező vegyes nemzetiségű kereskedők Miskolcon, Gyöngyösön, Egerben és más magyar városokban telepedtek le, magukkal hozva Cirill és Metód tanítványának, Ohridi Szent Naumnak kultuszát.

The Macedonian Folk Ensemble "Ohrid" was formed in April 2012, consisting mainly of MA and PhD students of Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, with support from the Macedonian Lectorate. The goal of the ensemble is to raise awareness and present the richness of the Macedonian folklore (especially through music and dances), as well as to expand the Hungarian-Macedonian relations. The name of the ensemble comes from the lake Ohrid in Macedonia. The scenic Ohrid was known as one of the most important centers of Slavic literacy from the 9th century onwards. As of the 16th century, the Ohrid region started creating strong connections with Hungary, because many tradesmen from the region migrated and settled in Hungarian cities (such as Miskolc, Gyöngyös, Eger, etc.), bringing with them the teachings of Cyril and Methodius, and the cult of Saint Naum.

HELLO TEMPUS! - Reich 90

The Hungarian Academy of Arts Research Institute of Art Theory and Methodology is organizing an event series combining a scientific program, a workshop, and a concert on November 2–3, 2026, on the occasion of Steve Reich’s 90th birthday.

The theme: TEMPUS – temporality, rhythm, non-linear time, perception, and ritual time.

One of the central programs of the two-day event series will be an interdisciplinary colloquium held at the impressive Pesti Vigadó, built around the keynote lecture by Professor Simha Arom. Professor Arom is an internationally renowned researcher of the aesthetics of African music, who, through decades of fieldwork and his independent and highly influential ethnomusicological and interdisciplinary research, has become a leading figure in the study of rhythm and tempus.

In connection with this, we invite representatives of widely different contemporary academic disciplines to join us in a shared exploration.

Our aim is to approach the subject from as many directions as possible, dancing around the questions of time, rhythm, and perception through different fields of knowledge.

The contributions should be brief, between 3 and 10 minutes. The colloquium will feature renowned professors and outstanding researchers, participating with short contributions.

There are still 10 places available for short contributions, and we welcome applications from professors and young researchers alike.

WE WELCOME PERSPECTIVES FROM:
• Philosophy – phenomenology, deconstruction, philosophy of time
• Musicology and ethnomusicology
• Neuroscience and cognitive science – temporal processing, predictive coding, enantiomeral
• Computer science – bio-inspired approaches
• Speech processing and psycholinguistics – prosody, rhythm in language
• African indigenous epistemologies – cutting-edge theoretical frameworks on temporal structures and decentralized network thinking
• Literary studies – narratology, temporal structures in text
• Anthropology of art / social anthropology – ritual, performance, cross-cultural temporalities
• Dance and movement studies – kinesthetic rhythm, choreographic time, the relationship between music and dance
• Media theory – time-based media, issues of technological mediation of time

• And any other discipline concerned with time, rhythm, and perception

The short, 3–10 minute contributions are intended to share a thought, insight, question, or research finding that may open up a new perspective.

Selected contributions will be published in a thematic issue.

We look forward to receiving your short, highly valued application here:

Dear Professor!
We would be honored if you would join us and share your thoughts with Professor Simha Arom, ethnomusicologists, and representatives of academic disciplines distant from one another in a multifaceted exploration of non-linear tempus, rhythm, and perception.

See you around TEMPUS in November!

For further news about the event series and details of the program, follow our page – from now on, we will be sharing updates every week!
