The World Boxing Organization, one of the most known and respected boxing organizations in the world, was founded in 1988. The WBO has always acknowledged and supported the many great European champions who have played an important role in the WBO, and in the history of the great sport of Boxing world wide. ariusz Michalczewski, Zsolt Erdei, Joe Calzaghe, brothers Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko, Artur Grigorian, Gerald Mc Clellan, Steve Collins, Herbie Hide, Harry Simon, Johnny Nelson, Oscar De La Hoya, Marco Antonio Barrera, Michael Carbajal, Acelino Freitas, Johnny Tapia, Juan Manuel Marquez, to name a few. In the last decade, the WBO has established many regional titles, enriching the world of boxing with a variety of outstanding possibilities that allow champions an opportunity to reach a world championship title. This variety enables boxers to achieve their goals and excellence, while reaching World Class stature. Nowadays, North America has the NABO Title, Central and South America have the WBO Latino Title, Asia has WBO Asia Pacific, Oriental, and Youth Titles, while Africa is opening its region as WBO Africa, and China Zone is being developed. Europe has the WBO Intercontinental Title, but now we are introducing the newly established WBO-Europe Title. The WBO Executive Committee Vice President of Europe, István “Koko” Kovács has been named director of the newly developed WBO Europe Title. The WBO European Title Committee was established, with its director, István Koko Kovács, the European Vice president of the organization.
