Good to know...

Because of the ongoing heatwave and record-low Danube water levels, the Paks Nuclear Power Plant may need to shut down partially or fully in the coming days. To help reduce electricity demand, the city is turning off decorative night lighting on public buildings (so the illuminated Parliament, Castle, bridges etc. may look different after dark for a while).

What this means for you:

📍 Night cruises — if you’ve booked one for the lights, consider switching to a sunset cruise instead. You’ll still get the views, just with natural light instead of building illumination.

📍 AC in your Airbnb/hotel — if you’re out for the day, please turn it off rather than leaving it running in an empty room. You probably don’t need 18°C — 22°C will feel just fine when you’re back.

Small steps from visitors add up. As the saying goes: for one, everything is impossible — for many, nothing is impossible. 🙏

We visited Hunyadi Square Market this morning before the arrival of our next guests at Apartment Csengery Budapest.
The main building is closed for renovation, but the market itself is open.
It’s worth a visit. ☺️
A 6-minute walk from the apartment. 😎
