Coleman’s Shrimp, Periclimenes colemani is a tiny, fascinating and not always easy to spot little shrimp. It lives among the venomous spines of fire urchins, especially Asthenosoma varium, using them as protection from predators.

At only around 2 cm long, spotting one could be a challenge! They are also often found in pairs, with a larger female accompanied by a smaller male

The Spiny Tiger Shrimp (Phyllognathia ceratophthalma) is a tiny, well-camouflaged shrimp. It grows to about 2 cm in length, with females being slightly larger than males.

This shrimp feeds on sea stars and possibly brittle stars.

Let's get wet and meet this colourful shrimp in September onward as we kick off a new diving season!
