🍽️ Villa Alma Lima Seminyak Foody Report – October 2025 🍹
Greetings everyone!
Welcome to our Villa Alu Lima Foody Report for October 2025 — straight from our latest Bali adventure.
It was a full schedule of new discoveries this trip, and wow — the number of new cafés, restaurants, and coffee spots popping up around Seminyak is incredible. Let’s dive in!
🥂 BLACKDOOR by Nook
Right across the road at the end of our gang on Jalan Petitenget — and yes, it’s from the same team as Nook in Umalas, one of our all-time favourites.
Beautiful fit-out, first-class food and service, and very fair prices. They’ve also got a serious Italian coffee setup, and the coffee the next morning was simply outstanding.
(Photos in the montage below 👇). Safe to say, we’ll be back!
P.S. There’s another newcomer from Nook near Hotel Seminyak — Niki by Nook. It’s on our list for next time.
🍝 L’OSTERIA
The old Café Petitenget site has had a major glow-up! L’Osteria brings authentic Italian fare in a relaxed, fresh space with a great-value wine list.
We were warmly welcomed by Ratih and Marius, the charming French manager.
They’ve got branches in Ubud and Canggu too — and it shows in the polish. An excellent addition to the neighbourhood.
🐷 WARUNG NIA
Hidden inside the Seminyak Markets, this one’s subtitled Balinese Food and Pork Ribs — and wow, sensational!
Packed when we went, yet service was quick, friendly, and efficient.
The food was fresh and generous. We didn’t try the ribs (next time!), but judging by the crowd, they’re a hit.
🛵 GOJEK GOFOOD
Worth a shoutout! Think Uber Eats on motorbikes — you can order from almost any restaurant.
We tried Biku (just round the corner) and Ginger Moon, one of our long-time favourites.
Perfect for a night in. A Rp20,000 tip (just under $2) is the norm.
🍕 ZIA TINA
Another Italian standout near L’Osteria — and another winner. Great food, lovely service, fair prices.
It was busy (always a good sign — fresh food, quick turnover). Definitely one to add to your list.
🔥 MADAN
From the owners of Warung Nia, it's located near Blackdoor.
The hummus was sensational, my wife’s seafood main was spot on, and my grilled half chicken… well, it was half grilled. Half cooked. Early days — they’d only just opened.
We’ll chalk that up to soft opening teething issues and try again later.
Interesting trend emerging: one owner, multiple restaurant styles. Watch this space.
☕ TANAMERA
New coffee spot just around the corner from the villa — stylish décor, quality Italian machine, and excellent coffee.
Though for us, Blackdoor still has the edge.
Prices are up there (Rp70,000 for a large takeaway, similar to Perth), but worth it for the ambience and quality beans from Java and Sumatra.
🌶️ BANGKOK KITCHEN
Hard to find — even Google Maps struggled! Tucked down a quiet alley, mostly empty when we arrived… so we gave it a miss.
🌊 SINGLE FIN BAR – ULUWATU
This one’s worth the road trip. Ocean views, waves rolling in, great food and service — the full Bali postcard moment.
We stopped by Padang Padang on the way back — the perfect day out.
❤️ Our Regulars – Forever Favourites
Because some classics never fade:
Breakfasts at Fat Turtle, Biku, and Sea Circus (all amazing), dinners at Merah Putih (superb), Nook (delightful), and Kaum at Potato Head (excellent).
And Mano — well, we went so many times we lost count. It’s our local and we love it.
That’s a wrap on our October Foody Report!
Seminyak just keeps getting better, and our wonderful villa team — Dewi and Irfan — are ready to welcome you back to Villa Alu Lima soon.
Bon appétit and see you in Bali! 🌴
