🇮🇩 Important information for Nyepi Day for EVERYONE visiting Bali! 🇮🇩

If you’re going to be on the island on 19th March, here’s what you need to know about NYEPI - BALI’s SACRED DAY OF SILENCE.

🕯️ What is Nyepi?
This is one of the most spiritually significant days in Bali — a full 24-hour period of silence, reflection, and stillness observed across the entire island.

📅 Date: 19th March 2026
🏠 Who does it affect? EVERYONE — locals and tourists included.

⚠️ What to expect:
🔹 The whole island goes quiet — streets are still and businesses close.
🔹 Everyone must stay inside their accommodation for the full 24 hours.
(6am on 19th to 6am on 20th March)
🔹 Mobile signal will be turned off, but Wi-Fi should still work
🔹 Lights and electricity use should be kept to a minimum in respect of the tradition.

🌺 Tips for travellers:
✨ Plan ahead — stock up on snacks or essentials before Nyepi starts
✨ Avoid scheduling flights or transfers on this date
✨ Enjoy the unique cultural experience — it’s unlike anything else in the world!

✈️ NEW Bali Entry Requirements the easy way!

✨ UPDATED Feb 26 ✨
Bali has made the process much easier with a new all-in-one application for the arrival card and VOA. This can ONLY be completed within 72 hours of travel.

Tips:
✅ Use a smartphone to apply
✅ Apply within 72 hours of your departure

Apply here: https://allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id

Follow these steps:

1️⃣ Scan your passport and make sure all the imported details are correct.

2️⃣ Enter your travel details, including arrival date, departure date and whether you already have a visa or travel permit (select no for this).

3️⃣ Complete the health declaration. You’ll receive a QR code, make sure you screenshot and save it to show when required.

4️⃣ You’ll then have the option to apply for a B1 Visa on Arrival (VOA) for each person and pay directly through the site.
This is around $50 AUD per person.

5️⃣ There is also a mandatory tourist levy of IDR 150,000 (approx. $15 AUD) per person. You can pay this here: https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id/home

Today marks the anniversary of that deadly night that left 202 innocent people dead from 21 countries, including 88 Australians. Hundreds more suffered terrible burns and other life changing injuries.

R.I.P to all the victims that sadly lost their lives that night.

Please take a minute to think of and remember the people that lost their lives that shocking night and the survivors that have to continually live it.

Sending our love and condolences to all their family and friends, our thought are with you and all the survivors 🖤
