Nyepi, Bali’s Day of Silence and celebration of the Balinese New Year is almost here. Villagers are busy crafting Ogoh-Ogoh; intricate, giant monster statues representing negative spirits. On the eve of Nyepi (18 March), these statues *parade through the streets with loud drums, traditional instruments, and vibrant chants to drive away evil spirits.

Then, for 24 hours, Bali falls completely silent, no flights, traffic, or lights, a day of reflection, balance, and spiritual renewal.
