Lucienne Anhar, managing director of Tugu Hotels and Restaurants, congratulates @joeyalexandermusic with his band after a world-class performance by the 17-year-old.⁣

This intimate concert is also held an auction the vinyl of his latest album Warna and Joey’s photo taken by celebrity photographer Robert Rosen. The proceeds were donated to the Tugu & Friends Library for North Lombok - a community aide project that established a library for children affected by the devastating earthquake in 2018.

The Art of Tugu: Grand painting "The Fall of Java" at Tugu Kunstrink, depicting the capture of Prince Diponegoro on the 28th of March 1830 at the house of Magelang Resident, after the betrayal of General De Kock from the Dutch-Indies Government.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In Indonesian art history, this legendary scene of Prince Diponegoro’s capture has only been painted by J.W Pieneman and Raden Saleh. This makes The Fall of Java as the third painting in the world which portrays one of the most iconic events in Indonesia history.

Dancing Around The Archipelago: Margapati Dance⁣

Margapati dance was created in 1942. The name derived from the word (mrga = animal, pati = king), depicting the motion of the king of the forest (lion) who is wandering in the middle of the forest chasing his prey. ⁣⁣

Its choreography blends the styles of North Bali and South Bali, usually performed by female dancers with firm movements resembling a man.

Jacobus Isidorus Loudewijk Levian Jacobson, an expert on tea, put a foundation for businesses of tea plantations in Java. In 1828 during the reign of Governor Van Den Bosh, tea became one of the plants that must be planted by people through Political Cultivation (cultuurstelsel). Since then tea became a part of people's lives until today.⁣⁣

[SaigonSan Restaurant] - In the 19th century, the Doan family in Hanoin were known to prepare grilled fish for their neighbors. The dish became so popular that their local community helped the family open a restaurant, named Cha Ca Va Long, in 1871. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The words "Cha ca" translate to "grilled fish" in Vietnamese. Meanwhile, "La Vong" was inspired by a local statue of Jiang Ziya, also known as Lu Wang (pronounced as La Vong in Vietnamese), the fisherman-turned-politician who symbolized the potential for patient, talented people. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The burial complex is divided into three areas: the courtyard, terrace and the mausoleum, symbolizing Javanese beliefs in stages of life (prenatal, life and death). ⁣⁣

The complex also has a library and a museum, in addition to statues and reliefs depicting Soekarno's life.
