PAGERWESI DAY April 8th
Following the celebration of the descent of knowledge (Saraswati) four days ago, today is worship of Hyang Pramesti Guru continued. This worship was performed to pray for mental and spiritual strength so that the knowledge gained could protect oneself from darkness and bring harmony and peace to the universe. Worship is held at each residential shrine and in the village.

How the Balinese sustainable their religion and culture.
Saraswati is celebrated as the day of the descent of knowledge, art and wisdom. Celebrated every 210 days of the lunar calendar (every Saturday Watugunung which is today April 4th)
Symbolized by the goddess riding a swan (a wise animal) carrying a musical instrument symbolizing art, prayer beads symbolizing endless knowledge, sacred library petals are a storehouse of knowledge, and lotus flowers symbolizing the purity of the universe. Celebrated by students and scholars. Goal: so that humans can be wise and have knowledge for a peaceful, harmonious and happy life.
