In celebration of World Wish Day, a little wish turned into a moment weโ€™ll never forget.

Elicia, a brave 4-year-old living Guillain-Barrรฉ Syndrome, has a dream to meet her favorite snow queen, Elsa. Through a beautiful collaboration with Make-A-Wish Indonesia, that dream began to come to life when Elsa arrived in Jakarta, bringing Elicia one step closer to the world of Frozen at Disney on Ice.

At Fairmont Jakarta, we had the honor of welcoming Elicia and her parents for a stay designed just for her. From the moment she walked in, her room transformed into a little kingdom of wonderโ€”complete with a princess dress, wand and tiara, a cozy tent, sweet treats, and a special surprise: a custom comic where Elicia became the snow princess of her own story.

Because sometimes, the smallest wishes carry the greatest magic.

We believe every wish is preciousโ€”and for Elicia, we hope this became a memory she and her family will hold onto forever.

Understanding tradition begins with honoring the meaning behind every detail. Ms. Jennifer of Sangjit Couture (.couture) shares that the sangjit ceremony is a significant step in the journey toward marriage, symbolizing the union of two families through the exchange of meaningful gifts.

She highlights the importance of the ten ceremonial gift trays. Eight trays presented by the groomโ€™s family and two trays presented back by the brideโ€™s family, each carrying its own symbolism of prosperity, respect, and well wishes for the coupleโ€™s future.

More than a ritual, sangjit is a beautiful expression of heritage, where every element reflects intention and cultural significance.
