Gaya Ceramic We want to preserve and promote craftsmanship, implementing the understanding and the appreciation of the ceramic’s “handmade” process.

Gaya Ceramic has been shaped with patience and love in the harmonic atmosphere of Bali. Marcello Massoni and Michela Foppiani, both passionate ceramists, have come from Italy in 2002 to share their long experience with the skills and enthusiasm of a group of equally passionate people to establish a place where intuition and inspiration combine perfectly. From an outset of just a couple pairs of hands assisting Marcello and Michela, Gaya Ceramic and Design (GCAD) has grown to about 80 employees, mostly coming from Sayan village where the company is located. The majority of them were initiated in ceramics with the company’s internal training programs. The Gaya Ceramic team is a multicultural coexistence…. Balinese Hindu, Christians, Muslims, and Buddhists are happy to share the same passion. In 2010 the Gaya Ceramic Arts Center (GCAC) was developed as the educational branch of the production company. The two spaces coexist in an inspiring and supportive symbiosis that benefits all clients and employees simultaneously.

We love seeing them all together like this, patiently waiting for their turn in the kiln.
Each one slightly different, each one carrying the little marks and imperfections left by our hands.

There’s something beautiful a poetic about this quiet moment before the firing, when the clay is still fragile and we can only imagine how they’ll turn out.
Now we wait and see ... The fire has its own plans.

Would you ever imagine these ceramic screens were made entirely from rejected leftovers?

This is RE-IKAT, our latest creations from GAYA’s REBORN DESIGN project. Little clay and glaze lab tests, saved from being disposed and then tied together by hand in a tapestry.

Every set of piece is different. Every tapestry is unique.

We love finding beauty in what others might throw alway.

Some objects have a way of bringing back memories. Don’t you think?

NONNA collection brings me back to Sunday lunches at grandma’s house. The table set with care, familiar voices, long conversations, and everyone gathered around for one more serving.

Delicate flowers, soft porcelain, golden edges. Little details that feel strangely familiar, reminding us of those afternoons when nobody was in a hurry to leave the table.

And somehow, the food tastes a little different when served on plates that bring those memories back.

Say hello to PASTELO — our newest collection and the new kid on the block at GAYA. 🌿
Subtle, but full of heart.
Each piece is thrown by hand from porcelain, and every pastel glaze is mixed individually — so no two shapes or tones are ever completely identical.
We wanted this line to bring the feel of morning light, fresh flowers, and long Sunday family brunches to the table. Just a simple invitation to slow down and enjoy the quiet moments. 😊
