Our Story

BAIO Hotels and Resorts unveils “The Melchior”, a classic yet stylish boutique hotel set in a historic Dutch colonial building. This prestigious architecture originally builds in 1914 and is strategically located inside the famous Bogor Botanical Garden (Kebun Raya Bogor), Bogor, Indonesia. Featuring 12 luxury guest rooms with a number of facilities.

Kebun Raya Bogor sprawling across 87 hectares land, is the noteworthy icon in Bogor’s life history, also considered as one of the Indonesian heritage. For centuries the magnificent garden has seen countless individuals streaming in and out of its site, attendees, tourists, or passers-by that are charmed by its verdant terrene from a nearby distance. The garden first open in 1817 and took it first form in the year of 1880 by Thomas Stamford Raffles, known for his Rafflesia Arnoldi, which until now still remain its presence in the garden. The opening of The Melchior comes in timely as Kebun Raya Bogor celebrates its 200 years in May 17th 2017.

There are plenty of things to do in the area, from exploring the garden with its 20,827 specimens of tropical plants to sightseeing the Presidential Palace. The Zoology Museum and the Presidential Museum are the two museums located within the area; both are a worthy place to visit.
