Tradition says that when a Burung Sriti (Swiftlet) visits your home, it’s an omen that guests bringing good news are coming.

We think it’s true, considering all the wonderful guests we get to welcome to our farm!

Fun fact: These birds have weak feet, so they almost never perch. Instead, they spend hours in constant flight, eating and drinking on the go. You’ll often see them circling our pond, scooping water and the occasional pond glider insect snacks at lightning speed.

A big thank you to our guest for letting us share this photo! These birds move so fast, that it is very hard to get a good photo of them.

In our third season of Gokan no Tabi, we are extending the retreat to 4 days and 3 nights, and refreshing our itinerary with more activities for an immersive and fulfilling long weekend getaway.

TOUCH - Shape clay through a pottery practice, creating your own Chawan or Teapot, explore and learn the patience of the hands in pottery. Also experience the exciting and dramatic raku firing, to fire bisque pieces by yourself. Guided by Ayu Larasati and

TASTE - A carefully prepared omakase dinner by × Kikkaya Wagashi, guided by the season’s freshest produce, subtle fermentation, and a series of thoughtful courses of progression from savory to sweet.

Explore the delicate art of Nerikiri making with .wagashi who is inspired by the flora of the farm. This workshop is taught by Rachel D. a certified confectioner, trained in Kyoto, Japan

SMELL - Breathe in the gentle aroma of freshly whisked usucha and gently brewed tea to pair with your wagashi.

SIGHT - Forage our farm and compose your hand-picked foliages into an ikebana arrangement with .masda: balancing elements and expressing mindfulness through the aesthetic of subtraction and Ma (negative space).

LISTEN - enjoy the rustling leaves and shared silence at Sukasantai’s natural rhythm.

Each senses intertwined creates a journey of returning to oneself to simply be present.

3. Throw your bug on to the spider’s net
