Coming to Bali? This is what to expect at Denpasar Airport.
I arrived a few days ago in Bali.
I had a booking for one night in a hotel.in Ubud - but it could have been anywhere, then I was staying at a friend's place. I had my Australian vaccine certificate on my phone, a proof I had a travel insurance, my PCR negative test result and my visa - i'm travelling on a Business visa.
The PCR test must be done 48 H before take off from your original departure. It doesn't matter if it takes you 3 days to reach Bali.
The Indonesian authorities have done a tremendous job to fast track the entry procedure.👏👏
1- your documents are checked at the first station and you are given a QR code printed on a little square paper. There are many agents at this station so the wait is very short.
2- at the next station you pay Rp275,000 (approx AUD27.50) for your PCR test. I paid AUD120 in Brisbane 4Cyte lab for the same and it took the 4Cyte 35h to deliver the results.
You can pay on line, in cash cards.. whatever.
3- they swab your nose and throat - 2 different swabs. In Bribane they swabed my breakfast in my throat then shove the same swab in my nostrils. So I was pleased by the lovely Balinese nurse consideration.
4- you are directed to the Visa On Arrival (VOA) counter.
5- you go through the immigration police who stamps your passport and you are done.
No wait in queues chairs are provided, the whole process took 45 mn. Welcome to Bali.
This is my breakfast at Swast Eco Cottages in Ubud. They grow their own organic food. Magic place!
We hope that the Indonesian government is now going to lift the PCR tests requirements and the proof of the vaccine like many other countries are in Asia. This will lift the last brake to tourism. Bali desesperately needs a boost of income. Many business when broke. The people of Bali are happy to see visitors came back. And they are showing it.
