Fingerprint Painting Museum

Fingerprint Painting Museum was built in 1993 and launched in July 1995. The owner of this museum is Gede Ngurah Rai Pemecutan. In this museum you will see many paintings created by using the end of finger tip that spread with colour before paint on canvas. The result is based on the imagination of the painter. In this museum also, you can also learn Balinese dance, painting, balinese music from the profesionals.

The history of method using fingers to paint was accidentally found from the failure in completing the painting of Baris dance. Mr. Gede Ngurah fixed the Baris dance painting not with a brush, but by using his finger tips which already dipped into colorful paint. After the Baris dance paint repaired, it turns out very beautiful with natural scratches fingerprints from the painter.

The famous painter Gede Ngurah Rai Pemecutan, has produced 640 pieces of painting to be displayed at the museum Sidik Jari Denpasar. Gede Ngurah Rai Pemecutan, born in Denpasar on July 4, 1936. The purpose of museum Sidik Jari Denpasar is to display a variety of paintings of his work, and displaying some poetries that he wrote on stone.

For the convenience of the visitors, you can find cafe, wantilan (pavilion) for rest, public toilets and large parking area.
