Selamat Hari Raya Galungan dan Kuningan

Tomorrow, June 17, Bali celebrates Galungan. A very special and sacred day that symbolizes the victory of good over evil, and a time when families come together to honor their ancestors.
All around Bali, the streets are decorated with beautiful penjors, offerings are placed at temples and homes, and people wear their traditional ceremonial clothing.
Galungan is a time of gratitude, reflection, family, and togetherness. Ten days later, Kuningan is celebrated, the day when the spirits of the ancestors return to heaven.
We would like to wish everyone a blessed Galungan and Kuningan.
May this special time bring peace, love, health, and positive energy.

On Kuningan, we will be open as usual from 08:00 AM until 10:00 PM.

❤️ Next week is our favourite time of the year to be in Bali.

It's Galungan & Kuningan, a 10 day celebration when ancestral spirits are believed to visit Earth, and Balinese people welcome them with elaborate offerings, amazing ceremonies, and huge feasts.

Galungan starts on Wednesday (17th), but Penjor (pictured) will decorate the streets a few days before. The period concludes with Kuningan on 27th.

Happy Kuningan Day today 🙏🌺

Tomorrow is Kuningan Day here in Bali. This is the meaning 👇

Kuningan takes place 10 days after Galungan and marks the end of the festive period. The gods and spirits of deceased relatives who returned to Earth on Galungan will return to their realm.

Balinese people visit temples to pray and make special offerings using yellow turmeric rice, which represents prosperity and gratitude.

The day after is called Manis Kuningan, which most locals once again spend with family and friends. There are no ceremonies on this day so you'll spot families hanging out and eating together.
