Feeling crafty? Join Asti for a beach bag workshop and make something to take home. Registration is available via DM Asti Surya. Then, bring out your competitive side with a round of traditional games.

And when the afternoon starts to roll, Roland takes over with a cassette DJ set to keep things moving.

A meeting of sounds, traditions, and different ways of listening.

Last Thursday, Gamelan Bike Bike brought their Vancouver-based ensemble to our amphitheater, joining Sanggar Palwaswari and Sanggar Kembang Bali for an evening of shared music and cultural exchange.

From hybrid instruments made from reclaimed bicycle frames and scrap metal, to the intricate sounds of Gender Wayang and Selonding, the evening brought three distinct ways of holding one living tradition together.

Thank you to Gamelan Bike Bike, Sanggar Palwaswari, Sanggar Kembang Bali, and everyone who joined us and listened along.
