Our Story

We’re a family-owned boutique eco-resort encouraging a sense of wonder for nature with our guests and children. Sebatu Sanctuary is situated in the foothills of Mt Batur volcano nestled between terraced rice paddies and lush forest and provides an incomparable back-to-nature experience. After more than 30 years working in tropical forest conservation, a strong commitment to reducing environmental impacts and supporting our nearby communities is critically important in the building and operation of Sebatu Sanctuary.

Experience Bali as it was a century ago, located close to the historic village of Sebatu. To the south, Sebatu Sanctuary is bordered by 20 hectares of forest and expansive rice paddies to the north. Sebatu Sanctuary is a boutique eco-resort with five beautifully landscaped villas offering a range of styles and back-to-nature experiences from luxury tents to a two-story Dutch colonial villa with spectacular views of a forested valley below.

Swim in Bali’s only natural infinity pool that includes more than 250 fish, which play a role cleansing the water. Totally chemical free with the water being safe enough to drink, come to stay several nights or just for an afternoon swim and lunch.
