Have you ever tried bakso ayam?

These tasty chicken meatballs, served with angel-hair noodles in a flavoursome broth and sauce, with as much chilli as you dare, are the perfect bite when you're out walking or spending the day at the beach.

Vendors sell them from their kaki lima - literally “five feet”. Traditionally, these mobile food stalls stood on two wheels and a supporting stick (three “feet”), with the vendor providing the other two.

You'll often find satay, lumpia and other local favourites nearby. And that's what makes a stroll through the local hotspots of East Bali such a treat.

Authentic, unpretentious, delicious, and just a stone's throw from Hidden Heaven.

Let's be honest. It's probably not on your holiday checklist. Booking sites don't mention it either.
