✨ Fish Friday Featured ✨

This beautiful couple is Banded pipefish, Dunckerocampus dactyliophorus, also commonly known as the ringed pipefish.
They are characterized by a long, slender body with distinct white and red or black vertical bands, reaching a maximum length of 19 cm.
This couple we found right here on our housereef by the block with the big anemone. They inhabit calm lagoons and outer reefs at depths between 5 - 56 meters.
Like seahorses, the males possess a specialized brood pouch to carry eggs, which you can see on the belly of the yellow brown striped male.
Isn’t that amazing? 🐠🐟
