After two weeks at the Bay, we had our final week at Febris. We love this hotel~ especially Wendy because of the amazing massages and treatments.
The Febris has undergone a facelift since Covid~ and the results were pleasing.

Celebrating Terry’s 70th at Chapter 2~ we had good food and even better cocktails. We had lunch at the Lokal one day~ very nice.
We did have a fruit juice at Jamie Oliver’s Kitchen~ very overpriced.

The cat that came~ and stayed.
I’m sure it gained a few pounds while we were here. I also feel sorry for the people that came after us!

The first five nights of our Bali holiday was spent at the Mahe Villas.
The photos of the rooms lied~ was definitely not as nice as the photos that we saw beforehand. I normally take photos but for some reason not this time. The room was okay ~ but very run down. I really loved the private pool ~ was very refreshing after a day out.
There was a kitchen which had a nice size fridge, a kettle, 2 small cups and 2 milkshake glasses~ that was all. Had a gas stove but nothing to use it with. No milk~ but once I asked for some, I got a small cup full for our tea/coffee.
Breakfast was nice but cold. A choice of Noodles, Rice and a Sandwich with a juice~ also a small plate with some watermelon and papaya, this was so nice..
The Villa was so close to Kuta~ but so far as well. Once we found a great driver we were fine.
We also inherited a cat for a few days~ this white one managed to find a way into our unit~ which wasn’t too hard because you couldn’t really secure it.
There wasn’t a safe in the room so we had to take our money and passports with us whenever we went out~ not a great thing to do all the time.
Tuesday was a rest day in the morning, then we went for a drive to Carrefour~ a great shopping centre before Covid but a lot smaller now.
In the evening we went to our first Warung~ a local restaurant.
This one was run by Muslim ladies. We each had a bowl of Chicken soup with a plate of rice~ so yummy~ and it only cost $2 each. A nice guy there got us a Bintang each from another shop for $3 each. So all up up meal and drinks cost us $5 each~ bonus.
On Wednesday we went to the Beachfront Boardwalk for a look around ~ it was lovely to see it was the same post Covid. Had a nice meal there and a great look around. Dinner that night was back at the Warung~ this time Terry had a Beef soup while I had the Chicken soup again.
Thursday was a day trip to Ubud~ however we never made it there. Along the way we stopped at the Hidden Zoo~ absolutely amazing. We then stopped at a Coffee/Tea plantation ~ bought back memories and tastes of years ago. Needless to say we bought some more teas and coffees to bring back home. Onwards to Kintamani for lunch and a view of the volcano ~ luckily we got there before it was hidden by the mist.
Lunch~ a buffet~ was really nice.
Friday was another rest day.
Saturday we checked out to go to Peninsula Bay Resort.
as much as the the staff were so nice and obliging ~ I would not recommend this hotel unless you were young, fit and like to walk everywhere.

Hidden Mini Zoo Bali
Part 2
These photos are taken with different animals. We started out with relatively tame ones~ then it went to spiders and snakes.
I really loved the bat~ it had big claws but it was so gentle, and it kept licking my arm. I went out of my comfort zone and had a tarantula placed in my hands~ it was so soft. I said no to the scorpion, I let Terry have that one all to himself! Also had a photo with one snake but said no to the other ones!

Couldn’t see it when we were first walking there~ but then we found it.
Was a real joy walking around and seeing it all. Very well maintained.

Cantik Agriculture Luwak Coffee
We stopped here on the way up to Kintamani and after the Hidden Mini Zoo~ an impulse visit.
We remembered coming here years ago~ or one like this.
This place is owned by local farmers~ like a co-op~ all proceeds go back to the farmers and the plantation.
They have done a great job making it very pleasing to walk through to the coffee/tea tasting area. They have cows there~ they use the manure for compost for the gardens. The Luwaks ~ mongoose to us~ roam free there (they do have a couple in cages to show visitors what they look like), they are a nocturnal animal. They grow all the herbs ~ ginseng, lemongrass etc~ to make their herbal teas.
I remember from years ago buying their herbal teas~ the memories came flooding back as we did the tasting.
We bought quite a few to bring back home.
We also bought a 50gram pkt of the Luwak Coffee at $25.00~ making it the most expensive coffee we have purchased and the most expensive coffee in the world.
