Tropicool Hideaway Villas is now open.

A private, design-led escape in the heart of Nusa Lembongan — created for slow, considered island living.

Built using breathable lime plaster and natural plant-fiber insulation, each villa stays naturally cool, calm, and non-toxic. Recycled teak furniture, brushed brass finishes, terrazzo stone basins, freestanding bathtubs, and rain showers bring together texture, warmth, and simplicity.

Step into open living spaces that flow seamlessly to your private pool and tropical garden. Soft natural sheers, refined linens, marble flooring, reclaimed ulin decking, and glass pool tiles complete the experience.

With full air-conditioning, high-speed Starlink internet, and a peaceful setting just minutes from Jungut Batu Beach, it’s a quiet place to unwind while staying close to everything.

Our brand-new villa signs are up, and we couldn’t be happier with how they’ve turned out! Tropicool Hideaway is our little slice of paradise, and within it, you’ll find two unique villas:

Palm Villa – inspired by the lush tropical palms that surround us.

Agung Villa – named after the majestic Mount Agung, Bali’s sacred volcano.

Each villa is designed as a mirror image of the other, combining modern comfort with natural Balinese touches. Together, they form our Tropicool Hideaway – a place to unwind, recharge, and soak up the island vibe.

Pinching ourselves that our dream villas are coming to life, honestly doesn’t seem real.Plenty of headaches, lots of problem solving and lots of lessons learned. But things are on track and shaping up to be something everyone that’s worked so hard on this project can be proud of. I’ll say this many times in the coming months, but this wouldn’t be possible without the master himself designing these villas for us. Also in no way would this be possible without my brothers and and their families for all the help they have given us through every step of this project. Tropicool Hideaway Villas coming soon!

NGERUAK & MECARU CEREMONY

The first ceremony is called Ngeruak. This ritual is designed to give thanks to the land for all it has provided and to ask permission for a change of function.
Mecaru Ceremony
Balinese Hinduism is based on the concept of Tri Hita Karana, the belief that there should be balanced relationships between man and God, man and all other people, and man and nature. Yadnya, or holy sacrifices, are made to sustain the balance and the various types of holy sacrifices are each meant to address a particular subject. Bhuta Yadnya is the holy sacrifice meant to maintain the balance between man and nature and is important because it is in nature (the natural world) that bad spirits are believed to most often reside. Bhu literally translates from Balinese to English as the word 'nature'.
So keeping Bhutra (or the bad spirits in nature) from becoming troublesome to man is accomplished by showing respect. 🙏

First materials have been loaded onto the boat in Kusamba today by the local porters.
After the boat is full (around 40 tonne), the boat crosses the Badung Strait to arrive under the yellow bridge that connect Nusa Lembongan to Nusa Cennigan. Because it is low tide the boat cannot come right into shore, so the porters on the Lembongan side ship the materials from the main boat to the land by small canoes then load up the waiting trucks to be transported to our land. It's all happening. Thanks Wira Karya for organising the transport!
