Back to work or holidayss at the homestay.
Life at the homestay Villa Yukie Senggigi returns to normal. Because we didn't suffer any damage to the rooms our occupancy rate remained high during the worst of the Earth quakes, our guests did not worry as all buildings had stood the test. All well built to European / western standards using only the best materials and mortar mixes. Within days tours were operating again, people wanting to see the damage done in not so well built sectors. A shame to see but the writing was often on the wall ........ cheaply built places suffered. Now the rebuilding starts. The President has visited the island and put a lot of money into a relief fund. They have also designed an econonomical house design that will withstand quakes mainly built of wood like the traditional houses. We have a 90 year old two story timber house that didn't suffer the slightest damage, the lod folks knew what would last.

Earth Quakes Earth Quakes and more Earth Quakes September 2018 but they appear finished now the last being just 2 days ago., they are dwindling in number and ferocity. Some say we will now have the safest island in he world as it can't happen again so may be Trump will build a Golf Course here., But Jokes aside come and see for yourself let the quake shake off the dust. I've been through so manyI don't even know when their happenning Come and see for yourslf

Lombok is growing fast with more and more tourists from Europe and Australia expected to arrive this year escaping the congestion of Bali. We are also expanding our accommodation and plan to open new rooms in mid-April in time for the high season. Already bookings are building up as most tourist from Europe book well in advance so if you plan on visiting Lombok and would like to stay at my Home Stay please get your bookings in soon.
