Villa Yoga Bale is a grandiose semi-open living space with a seven-meter high ceiling made from local thatch. It has a multi-functional area for dining, relaxing, playing games, hosting a small performance, or practicing yoga.
Antique Javanese (gebyok) walls are united with large panes of glass to create a traditional/contemporary blend in a fully air-conditioned downstairs bedroom. This large bedroom has a king size bed and a double bed (both antique, from the island of Madura), a writing table, chairs, and armoire.
Attached to the bedroom is a semi-open bathroom with a separate shower and handmade terrazzo bathtub. Flowers and green trees grace the bathroom and add to the elegant tropical atmosphere. Upstairs is an open bedroom with a king size bed, desk, lounging chairs and bathroom with open shower and terrazzo tub.

Villa Saraswati, named after the Hindu goddess of knowledge and arts, is custom made by master craftsmen from an antique Joglo (houses built for royalty) from Kudus (Java).
We slightly modified the antique structure and erected it at the Citakara Sari Estate. Carved wooden walls, soaring ceilings that promote air circulation (assisted by nine powerful fans) keep the building cool even on the hottest Balinese days. Multiple day beds make this grand entertainment/media/living/dining area (with a kitchen) a desirable hangout spot for any time of the day or night.
Two traditional doors lead to separate bedrooms with antique king size beds, writing desks, A/C units and fans. Large doors open into en suite semi-open bathrooms that harmonize with nature. The baths have oversized tubs in beautiful gardens.
There are many places to tranquilly rest in Villa Saraswati, including a bale with an ocean view and large welcoming front porch with daybeds and antique armchairs. Villa Saraswati can comfortably accommodate four adults plus children.

Villa Joglo is an antique teak Joglo house from Java with contemporary architectural elements. This elegant two-story home has all the conveniences of a contemporary villa well suited to our beachfront location. There is a semi-open spa with granite soaking tub and sauna attached.
Koi fishponds grace the entrance. A large living/kitchen/dining/entertainment area occupies the first floor. Wrap around granite porches are on the first and second floors. Two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms are located on the second floor. Bedrooms are furnished with queen size beds, armoires, writing tables, and lounge chairs. A large day bed is a cozy spot for a nap or an extra space for children to rest.
Citakara Sari Estate is a tranquil compound comprised of three separate villas.
The expansive grounds (6200m2) with decorative bushes, tropical flowers, over 100 palm trees, encased in an immaculate green grass lawn connects the three villas and leads to 40m wide beachfront. Ocean side is a magnificent infinity pool, a dining pavilion, bale, and a private white sand beach (constructed on top of the sea wall) suitable for lounging, dining (view our current menu), massage, lessons in yoga, art, dance or music—taught by our artists in residence. Just steps below is a safe natural white sand beach, protected from big waves by a coral reef. Citakara Sari is home to one of the few natural white sand beaches left in the Candi Dasa area. A state-of-the-art tennis court is a rare highlight in a private villa. Good equipment (rackets, balls) is provided. After a match you can jump in the pool or snorkel at the beach.

Our spacious villas allow for large families to stay together in permanent or temporary beds.
There is plenty to do all day long. Our manicured lawn is perfect for ball games, flying kites, or just running around. Hammocks, a swing, and a climbing rope will entertain kids of all ages. A shallow kid’s pool is attached to the main pool. The large upper beach, with beach toys, provides an opportunity for children to build sand castles without leaving the property. Our tennis court, equipped with lights, rackets, and balls, is available to play or learn the game (tennis trainer is available by request). There are yoga sessions and Balinese dance/music lessons for kids lead by highly acclaimed teachers. The estate has plenty of space for table games, reading, or watching movies together.
A babysitter can be arranged upon request.
We are equipped with: high-chairs, baby cots, baby and toddler car seats. All are complimentary.

Citakara Sari villas are constructed using reclaimed teak wood, old coconut palm trees from our land, clay, and thatch to blend seamlessly with the natural landscape of a coconut grove. We built around the trees in an effort to cut as few as possible. Those that were cut were repurposed as columns and structural elements of our buildings.
Our villas are named Saraswati, Joglo, and Yoga Bale. Wonderful ocean views are ubiquitous at the estate and from every villa guests can enjoy the ocean panorama. Each villa is equipped with living / dining room, kitchen, media room and two bedrooms with king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms. Rent all villas together and have the entire grounds with private spa, pool, tennis court, and ponds for exclusive use.
Citakara Sari, is located in East Bali in Mendira village close to Candi Dasa. East Bali is known as the real Bali where rice terraces spill down hillsides under swaying palms, and traditional villages remain intact. The culture of the region carries on as it has for centuries with little adaptation. Guests are likely to see ceremonies and temple festivities and enjoy a welcome alternative to the touristy hustle and bustle of South Bali and Ubud.
Citakara Sari welcomes people interested in learning about Balinese arts and culture from some of the best artists on the island. With advanced notice, we can offer guests a Balinese cultural immersion program. The program is carefully designed to introduce our guests to Balinese arts by visiting private studios, art shops, exhibitions, and museums, or participating in workshops, performances, and concerts. Training sessions in Balinese dance, music, and singing are conveniently taught by artists-in-residence at the estate. Many of the artists involved in our program have world-class reputations and have traveled internationally giving performances, lectures, and seminars. Our guests will be able to meet people who are passionate about arts.
