Parigi-Moutong is located in Tomini Bay, around 67 km Noth from Palu, Central Sulawesi. Whereas most divers are familiar with Gorontalo and Togian Islan, the waters of Tomini Bay around Parigi are much less explored. It is considered as the last area in Central Sulawesi with unexplored dive sites, yet to relingquish her sec

rets and beauties. Diving the waters of Parigi open the possibilites for divers to discover new reefs with giant coral formations, unique topographical seascape exploration, not to mention the plethora of fishes and critters. Tomini Bay is considered as the center of diversity for marine animal between Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean, amongst its inhabitants are 6 species of dolphins, 2 species of whales, and whaleshark which often frolicks in these waters. The protected waters of Tomini Bay provides amazing crystal clear water consistently reaching 40m vertical visibility creating an unubstructed view for divers to enjoy amazing coral formations rich in colors and sheer wall drop off in various divesites around Parigi. Diving in Marantale, one of the divespot here, divers will be greeted Tuba sponges and Salvadore Dali sponges (Petrosia lignose), some reaching gargantuan size of over two meters in length. In addition to stunning coral formation, the unique topography of intricate coral mounds will leave divers breathless with amazement. Various dive spots provide vertical wall which are literally underwater cliffs, often reaching depth of well over the recreational limit of 40m. Tectonic movement over milenia created paralel lines of walls seperated by deep water reaching 400-1000m. This unique topography provide protection to the reefs closest to shore, providing calm conditon ensuing a relaxing dive with little to no current. In contrass, the outermost wall are directly facing the open water, pelagics are often seens in theese water, feeding on smaller fish hidding amongst the dense soft coral formations. Night dive provide ample opportunities for macro lovers to test their keen eyes as seahorse, ghost pipefish, nudies and various critters feed in the dark.
