🌴🍛 YOU SPOKE… AND GOODNESS, SANUR LOVES A WARUNG!
A few days ago I asked you to tell me your favourite warungs in Sanur — and you certainly delivered. 😂
There were SO many recommendations that choosing just ten was almost impossible, but a few names kept popping up again and again. I’ve also slipped in three of our own long-time favourites because, well… it’s my list and I’m allowed a little meddling. 😂💛
Here are 10 Sanur warungs worth putting on your eating list:
1. Warung Little Bird
One of the most-mentioned favourites. You raved about the food, the atmosphere and the live music nights. A real Sanur crowd-pleaser.
2. Warung Anna
Another big favourite. Several of you specifically mentioned Anna’s specials — especially the Village Special and her own-recipe Spicy Chicken.
3. Warung Baby Monkeys
Loved for the buzzy atmosphere, icy cold beers and consistently good food. One follower summed it up perfectly: an all-round good warung.
4. Lilla Warung
No surprise to us! You love pretty much the whole menu — and several people agreed with my standing advice: leave room for dessert.
5. Mbok Luh
One follower called it not just their favourite warung, but their favourite place to eat overall. The Soto Ayam also got a special mention.
6. Bobby’s
Beachfront, great value and a lovely sea view. Another one that received multiple votes — and, as you know, we’re rather fond of an evening under that beautiful big tree ourselves.
7. Saigon Café
A South Sanur favourite that got more than one shout-out. A good reminder that a “warung list” in Sanur can happily wander beyond purely Indonesian food.
And then three Sanur Soul Sister favourites I couldn’t possibly leave out…
8. SMS Warung
Home of the fabulous Chef Mudana. Wonderful Indonesian food, and you can even take a cooking class at the warung.
9. Warung Sports
One of our all-time favourites. Huge menu, excellent gluten-free choices and, in our opinion, the best pavlova in town. Yes, I realise pavlova is an unusual warung recommendation. Trust me. 😂
10. Dapur Deli
When you want something fresh and healthy, this is a beauty. Some of the best salads in Sanur, plus excellent vegan and gluten-free options.
And honestly? This list could have been 30 long.
You also gave shout-outs to Ulam Ayu, Warung Kecil, Warung Memeri, Coconut Tree, Dekko, Warung Mankar, Old Brick, Warung Rainbow, Ari Putri, Dapur Mamiku, Green Chili, Warung Papa Pizza and plenty more.
