On March 19th, Bali goes silent for Nyepi.
For a full 24 hours, the entire island comes to a complete standstill. No flights, no lights, no noise, and no stepping outside. It is a sacred day dedicated entirely to fasting, meditation, and looking inward to prepare for the New Year.

Nyepi 2026 — Your Complete Bali Guide

🌊 March 16–18 – Melasti Ceremony
Sacred purification processions head to the sea — stunning to witness! Expect busy roads as temples across Bali participate. 🙏
🪔 March 18 – Pengerupukan (Ogoh-Ogoh Parade)
Giant demon effigies paraded through the streets tonight 🎭 Cafes & restaurants close from midday, roads close ~4pm — stock up early!
🤫 March 19 – Nyepi (Day of Silence)
The whole island goes silent for 24 hours. No going outside, everything closed. Embrace the stillness 🧘 It's magical.
🌅 March 20 – Bali wakes up!
Everything reopens from 6am as normal.
🕌 March 21 – Eid al-Fitr
National holiday right after Nyepi — expect busy roads island-wide.
