At our Boni Tree bird hide the Javan Banded Pittas almost never disappoint. Both male and female show up pretty much every day. And if you're lucky, they spend some intimate time together, right in front of you!

Normally not easy to photograph, as this bird doesn't like to sit for a long time in the open. But at the new tree log at our riverside bird hide they seem to be pretty relaxed..!

We have added a tree log to our riverside bird hide, and this gives new opportunities to photograph our daily visitors from a different angle, and up close!

A Golden-headed Cisticola. A very active bird, singing loud over the rice fields around us.

We had never seen or heard one in the first years we live here; now we hear it every day :)

Our first vanilla beans are now being cured.

Our new cows are doing great, and get along well with our dogs ❤️❤️❤️

We collect manure for our compost, and urine to process into bio-urine fertiliser for our plantation.

After the occasional early afternoon rain shower our guests really enjoy the views over the mist and fog covered valley in front of our Wani Tent, while the afternoon sun is slowly shining through.
