We invite you to enjoy our two comfortable bedrooms prepared for you, and will help you experience authentic Balinese village life -- our gardens, rice fields, music, temples and ceremonies. Four generations of our family live in the extended compound (my grandparents, my parents, my brothers and our young families). We have prepared two comfortable rooms for our guests (and a modern bathroom, of
course). The beds are clean and comfortable, and we provide you with a nice warm blanket for our cool nights. We are happy to have our guests share and understand our daily lives, and can offer a number of activities to keep you busy, including
- rice field and forest walks
- planting and harvesting rice
- tending our vegetable gardens
- cooking delicious Balinese food in the traditional ways
- picking coconuts
- making fresh coconut oil!
- learning to play a simple tune on our bamboo gamelan
- dressing in formal Balinese clothing -- for men and women
- participating in ceremonies at our local temple
You will be guests in our home, and we look forward to sharing our life and our village with you. Our village is located in the mountains above Ubud, Bali, not far from the famous Taro Elephant Park. We are a traditional village of rice farming families. Afternoons and evenings are spent playing volleyball, playing music, and spending time with our families and friends. We are not on the public transportation routes, but we are happy to organize a car to pick you up for a small additional fee. It can be cooler in our village in the evenings, so a jumper or fleece would be a good idea.
