Join us in the magical heart of Bali, the Island of the Gods. A few days amid the tranquil rice terraces near Ubud is the perfect contrast to your beach holiday. The weather in Ubud is milder than on the coast and it is a great place to base yourself as it is so central. Stay in our private, comfortable villa surrounded by a lush tropical garden full of bir

ds and butterflies. In the same compound is the residence and studio of your host, Yan Suryana, where you can watch this famous Indonesian artist at work. Your privacy is respected, but if you prefer you will become a pampered member of the family. They will help you find your way around town, book tours for you and generally ensure that you get the most out of your holiday. Your home in Bali is situated in the traditional village of Petulu, north of Ubud, the celebrated art centre. Petulu is famous for the thousands of white herons that roost in its trees every night. These graceful birds have been a source of inspiration to many artists. Our location gives you the opportunity to observe traditional Balinese culture untainted by tourism. You may take part in elaborate temple ceremonies. The friendly villagers welcome guests with genuine pleasure. Watch the daily activities of the farmers as you stroll or cycle among the rice fields. Later, enjoy an exotic cocktail at the poolside bar or savour Austrian coffee and cake on the terrace as you watch the sunset over the rice terraces. You can take advantage of the free shuttle service to Ubud, a popular tourist destination with hundreds of intriguing shops and boutiques. Walk around the market, explore the Monkey forest or visit one of the many fine art museums and galleries. Ubud boasts a number of excellent restaurants, and after dinner there are different classical Balinese dances every night. Bali is one of the most culturally rich and naturally beautiful places in the world. Its magnificent temples, exotic ceremonies and spectacular volcanoes are all within easy reach of Ubud. Our 2-storey villa accommodates up to four people. Rates include Indonesian /European-style breakfast.
