Amazing… All is ready for tomorrow’s cremation. Thousands of men and women have volunteered their time and energy to prepare for a memorable Pelebon (Royal Cremation). October 30th, 2013 – The Ritual of Upadesa
The closest people to Tjokorda Istri Sri Tjandrawati were reunited and performed with the assistance of 3 Pedandas the ritual of Upadesa. Ibu Tjok Sri’s soul was manifested through a simple yet very important offering called Preraga. During this ritual, she said good-bye to everyone. Early tomorrow morning, there will first be the cremation of the Preraga followed by the cremation of the co**se at midday.

IN MEMORY OF TJOKORDA ISTRI SRI TJANDRAWATI

Tjokorda Istri Sri Tjandrawati, also known as Cok Sri Bulan, was born in Ubud on 19th September 1954, she was the daughter of Tjokorda Gde Putra Sudharsana (from Puri Saren Kangin) and Tjokorda Istri Putra Asmari (from Puri Saren Kauh). She was married to Tjokorda Gde Putra Sukawati, the son of Tjokorda Gde Agung Sukawati and Anak Agung Niang Rai from Puri Saren Agung Ubud on 28th October 1983.

Tjokorda Gde Putra Sukawati is the Penglingsir (leader of the palace) of Puri Agung, Ubud. Cok Sri Bulan had an older brother, Tjokorda Gde Budi Suryawan.

Cok Sri Bulan completed her undergraduate education at the State Administration Department, Faculty of Social and Politics, Mahendradatta University Denpasar in 1986. She then worked as a civil servant at the Social Department of Bali in Denpasar. After their wedding, Cok Sri Bulan resided in Puri Saren Agung Ubud and has always accompanied her husband in the activities of community service to the local community.

Cok Sri Bulan and Tjokorda Gde Putra Sukawati had two sons namely Tjokorda Gde Agung Ichiro Sukawati and Tjokorda Gde Angghara Sukawati.

Cok Sri Bulan passed away at the age of 59 on Monday, 14th October 2013 at 9.50pm local time at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore following a long battle with cancer. Her body arrived at the Puri Saren Agung Ubud on Tuesday, 15th October 2013 at 9pm and laid at the venue until the time of the Pelebon ceremony on Friday, 1st November 2013.
