POV: you walk 20 minutes and find a cute village in Sumba and it has a waterfall 🥹✨

The waterfall was the surprise, the village was the bonus, Sumba was the whole reason.

In the middle of all these green hills, there's rice fields, traditional houses, and this waterfall hiding in the back. No crowds, no filter needed, just some local kids jumping and pure magic.

I keep saying it - this island is unreal.

This island is the reason I travel ✨

Where will you go?
Anywhere. Everywhere.

Life is short, the world is wide and sometimes you just need to get lost to actually find yourself. From empty white sand beaches with no footprints, to sunsets that paint the whole sky orange, to hidden turquoise canyons, traditional villages on top of mountains, and roads that go on forever through green hills.

This place reminded me that we don't need much to be happy. Just a little courage to go somewhere new and make some memories.

When you click "avoid tourist traps" on Google Maps, and Google Maps said " you've arrived ".

I don't think I'm in Bali anymore (an hour from Bali)
Welcome to Whoville, but make it Sumba.

Bali is where you go to Party. Sumba is where you go to disappear.

No signal, no traffic, no influencer in sight.
Just 38 traditional thatched houses standing on a hill, where people still live the same way they did centuries ago. Buffalo horns on the roofs, pigs running underneath, kids waving at you like you're the first tourist they've seen this week - because you probably are.

Everyone goes to Bali to find themselves, I went to Sumba to lose the tourists 🙈

In Sumba I found something I didn't know I was looking for. Silence. Space. A place where Google Maps actually stops working.

I stayed in a bamboo resort TANOMA SUMBA by the sea and did this as a day trip. Bali is still great for a base, but Sumba is the trip itself.

A remote island 1 hour flight from Bali that 99% of tourists skip.

I walked through a narrow crack in the rocks and this opened up. Turquoise water, 100ft walls, that waterfall at the end. No signs, no entrance fee queue, no influencers fighting for the shot.

The water was freezing cold, but when you're this far off the map, you jump in anyway.

This isn't Bali. This is Sumba. And it ruined every other island for me.

White sand beaches with zero people, turquoise water that looks fake, canyons that look like Jurassic Park, villages with 1000-year-old traditions, and sunsets that make you forget your phone.

No traffic. No beach clubs. No queue for a photo.

Just raw, wild, untouched Indonesia.

I spent days here jumping between secret beaches, canyons, green hills, and traditional villages. Every corner felt like I was the first one to find it.
