๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ Seorang Trash Hero bukanlah mereka yang berkata "saya Trash Hero." Seorang Trash Hero adalah mereka yang berani beralih ke gaya hidup nol sampah dan menjalankannya dengan hati gembira.

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง A Trash Hero is not one who says "I am a Trash Hero." A Trash Hero is one who dares to shift to zero waste lifestyle and conduct it with smiles.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo with our inibags Trash Hero edition. We made this bag from two recycled plastic bottles โ™ป๏ธ!

Well done SuSan Stephanie, Trash Hero Indonesia and DOCK Komodo

Wednesday, 10th July, 2019 was a historical moment for Labuan Bajo and also for all of us in DOCK!

Our project and conservation manager SuSan Stephanie was privileged enough to meet Presiden Joko Widodo during one of the evening events! Being Indonesia's number one, we hope that Jokowi would also be the number one DOCK supporter for the Save Money Save Komodo campaign. So it only seemed right that he was presented with the special VIP tag number 00001, which we have been keeping for a while now ๐Ÿ˜‰

Although he might not need it, this tag still entitles him to discounts across Labuan Bajo's best stores, restaurants, bars and dive centers. Jokowi was also presented with a Trash Hero Indonesia reusable shopping bag, DOCK water bottle, reusable stainless steel straw set, a town map with the location of refill water stations as well as a copy of The Voice of Flores second edition magazine. The Save Money Save Komodo campaign is the first initiative of its kind in Indonesia, and to meet and receive support from Jokowi was an absolute honour.

Want to get your own DOCK eco-travel kit? They can be purchased from shops around Labuan Bajo or at DOCK dive centers for just 150,000 IDR!

Special thanks to our friend Dwina from Trash Hero Komodo for her huge support and assistance!

The long promised plastic bag ban is now officially in effect as of June 23rd, 2019 . After a six months adaptation period, the Bali government officially announced the ban on all single-use plastic bags, straws and polystyrene becoming the first province in Indonesia to do so.

More and more countries and regions are joining our mission! Yes! This is BIG!

The European Parliament has approved a ban on disposable plastic products, bringing the ban one step closer to reality. The ban would affect a wide range of products that have alternatives, such as straws and cutlery.

Do you remember in the beginning of 2018, Bali declaring a "garbage emergency"? โš ๏ธ

Each year, there are 4 million tourists coming to Bali for an average stay of 7,7 days (Making Oceans Plastic Free), eager to enjoy the Indonesia island's breathtaking landscape and beaches ๐ŸŒ‹๐ŸŒด

Did you know that tourists produce around 5 times more waste than local residents (2,4-5kg per person per day EcoBali - Waste Management, Education and Products) ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. This includes plastic bags and packagings that end up in our ocean ๐ŸŒŠ

This is not only happening in Bali, but here is the place we can do something about ๐Ÿค Choose alternatives for yourself, and provide them for tourists in you business: www.WelcomeAlternativeBags.com
