It's true! Spraoi na hAisléime Parent and Toddler Group will be up and running in a few short weeks, providing space for little ones and their parents or other caregivers to come together for play, refreshment, and company. Locals and visitors to the Achill area will be welcome.

In the meantime, please give us a like for updates as we get this exciting and much needed new project off the ground.

Comhlacht Forbartha Áitiúil Acla are delighted to announce the Achill Link 2022! Following the difficult decision to suspend last year’s Achill Link, CFÁA are thrilled to bring back this much loved publication for a special bumper 2022 edition. We know how special this magazine is to the Achill community both at home and abroad, and we’re so excited for you to see this extra special issue later on this year.

Submissions for the Achill Link 2022 are now open & we are currently seeking:

🟨 A piece of news which occurred in 2020/2021
🟨 A memory or special occasion which happened 2020/2021
🟨 A story of an individual or group achievement, initiative or event in 2021/2022
🟨 Poems
🟨 Short stories of fiction (No more than 500 words)
🟨 Articles reflecting the experience of a person/business living in a Covid world
🟨 Photographs of noteworthy events/occasions which occurred in 2020/2021
🟨 Articles inspired by Achill history, sports, music or art
🟨 Community fundraising initiatives which took place during 2020/2021
🟨 New businesses which opened in 2020/2021

We are particularly interested in articles which show the positive stories to emerge during this difficult period of time. The deadline for submissions is Friday 17th September 2021. Tonight we are missing the annual Croi Whist Drive at the Achill Sound Hotel, for the first time in nearly 30years! This year instead, we remember our dear friends John McGinty and Bernie Varley, and all the card players not with us tonight. Here’s hoping that we can all get together next year for a great charity, and great pancakes.
