Medieval Athenry is just a few minutes off the M6 motorway and on the main rail Galway-Dublin, the train station is just a stroll away. The Anglo-Normans brought change to Ireland in so many ways. They established abbeys and priories throughout the land. These wonderful ruins can tell us so much about our medieval past.
