Hi Ladies & Gents

We`re allegedly fixated on the weather in Ireland but we`ve been taking this to new levels the past 24 hours.

As we said last evening, we have been and will continue to monitor the weather forecast.
We would like to re-iterate that our primary concern is for the safety of all participants in the event. While the worst of the weather will be in the West & North West there is a weather warning in place from 1.00pm for Ballybunion.

For this reason the adults races which were scheduled to start at 1.00pm will be brought forward to 10.00am.

We believe this is a better alternative than postponing the event entirely.

The Kids Fun Run has traditionally been held 1 hour before the adults so that the children can feel part of the week-end. Unfortunately it is not practicable to hold this at 9.00am so we have reluctantly decided to postpone this years Kids Fun Run.

We wholeheartedly regret any inconvenience these changes will cause

We will be available at Kilcooly`s (V31DR60) this evening, Friday from 5.00pm and tomorrow, Saturday, morning from 8.30am for the collection of T shirts and Timing chips.

Please come back to Kilcooly`s directly after the race for complimentary hot food and snacks. We anticipate it will be well deserved

We`ve all been looking forward to Easter Sat April 4th.
Unfortunately it does appear that the weather gods are not as fond of us as they have been since our first Runballybunion in 2010
We have been and continue to monitor the weather forecast for the Ballybunion area. Our primary concern is for the safety of all participants in the event. In consultation with all the relevant bodies we will make a decision on whether it is safe to proceed with the event.
There is currently a weather warning in place for Saturday afternoon/evening. Met Eireann continue to issue updates and we will monitor these
The adults races are currently scheduled to start at 1.00pm
If it is deemed safe to proceed with a start time of 11.00am we will do so rather than the alternative of postponing the event entirely. We will make a final decision before Noon on Friday and use all means at our disposal to inform participants
We wholeheartedly regret any inconvenience this will cause but please note that this is beyond our control. Thankfully we have not found ourselves in this position before.
I would like to re-iterate that safety is our primary concern and we will act accordingly.

We'd like to spotlight a new beneficiary of - Mid West School for the Deaf, in Limerick.

The school was founded in 1979 and offers early intervention, primary and post primary education to deaf and hard of hearing students in the mid west of Ireland.

Any funding and donations received are put to great us for the students.
