Underground Cinema Film Festival is a unique concept celebrating
independent Irish filmmaking. The Festival is an exciting mixture of short Irish films, exciting independent feature films, films promoting the Irish language, children’s programs and workshops from some of the country’s best writers, directors and actors. The Festival has been created by Underground Cinema, a well-established body r

ecognised for presenting some of the most unique, cutting edge, visionary works that Irish cinema has to offer. Underground Cinema takes pride in bringing attention to the Irish filmmaker with the same enthusiasm that is often reserved for international artists. The inaugural Underground Cinema Film Festival Awards took place in the Screen Cinema in Dublin with the awards ceremony in Fitzpatrick’s Castle Hotel in Killiney in 2010. Key figure guests are to appear at this year's festival including Ferdia McKenna, Tom Collins, Mark O’Halloran and Emmett Scanlon to name but a few.
