Victorian Costume & Period Dress Talk with

Step back in time and explore the elegance of the Victorian era through an engaging live demonstration of historical costume and period dress. This captivating presentation brings 19th-century fashion to life, showcasing authentic styles, layers, and accessories that defined the era's social customs and daily life.

Led by a knowledgeable costume historian Melissa Shiels, the demonstration will guide you through the evolution of Victorian fashion — from everyday wear to formal attire — revealing the meanings behind the materials, silhouettes, and strict dress codes of the time.

Melissa will be costumed and available throughout the day for questions, photo opportunities.

Willow Weaving with Elaine Feely

Spend a creative and relaxing morning at the beautiful Glengarra Mountain Lodge learning the traditional craft of willow weaving with local artist Elaine Feely.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will be guided step by step to weave their own willow bird feeder or decorative flower—perfect for your garden or as a unique handmade gift. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, this workshop offers a fun and mindful way to connect with nature and heritage skills.

All materials are supplied, and you’ll leave with your own finished piece and the basic skills to continue weaving at home.
